Camp Utopia is a Christian camp and retreat center owned by the Alabama Church of God, on Camp Road in Springville. Each June it runs four age-grouped youth camps of 4–5 days, offering sleep-away sessions plus specialty sports, arts, and music camps. Campers swim, gather around campfires, and grow in their faith among updated cabins, a pool, and recreational facilities.

I randomly thought of them tonight at 36 years old and was surprised they were still open! This was an incredible "UTOPIA" to me as a child. The unity, the activities, the worship, the friendships, etc. I've carried them with me for decades. Fun competitions, paddleboating in the lake, hitting the Canteen store after, then getting ready with your bunkmates for an incredible but also "cool" worship service! I highly recommend if you're a member of the Church of God that you give your kids this experience! They'll be just as grateful for those lifelong memories as I am that my mother and church gave to me. 🩷
