Island Camp offers week-long overnight sessions of faith, fellowship, and activities for girls 9-17, with a shorter 3-night option for ages 7-13, off-island TAP Adventure trips for ages 13-15, a Counselor-in-Training program for 16-17, and a Wingo day-camp option.

★Samantha YangSadly, Camp Tapawingo is not the same as it used to be. Our group has been choosing this stay for 10 plus years every summer and this year was the first time the staff made it so difficult for us. They were terrible at communicating changes and were not clear on their terms. Upon arrival, the Director, Margaret, welcomed us with some upsetting news. She informed us that we could only stay 3 of the 4 nights we reserved because in order for us to stay 4 nights, we needed a nurse on-site. This came as a surprise since we were never notified before our stay that a nurse was required nor was it stipulated in our signed agreement. It was unprofessional of them to not inform us of the changed terms before our arrival as they had significant time prior to our reservation to notify us. In addition, they knew the duration of our stay and that the agreement we originally signed was outdated. Instead they decided to tell us on the day we arrived. When this was brought up to Margaret, she refuted saying they had given us the old contract instead of the new revised one. However, that's not how a contract works. You can’t just add a new clause to the contract when it's already been signed nor bring about changes without the signing party’s review and approval. You have to submit a new revised contract and have both parties agree on the terms and resign it. Because we were blindsided with the news and couldn’t find a nurse within a short amount of time we had to cut our stay short. This led us to having to find transportation for our campers and shortening our program at the last minute. Not only was the Director, Margaret, rude and unapproachable, she was not willing to compromise or work with us. With all the complications, miscommunications, and stress we had to endure, our group will not be returning next year. Although we have enjoyed our stay in the past, we will not tolerate nor go through that experience again. Please learn to treat your long standing customers better!

There is good atmosphere, and the rooms have really been thought out. It's a beautiful drive out to Mishicot at night, and go the extra mile during the season.

Also has a great fire pit with raised bench seating on the river. Held my wedding reception there and loved it. Attended a friend's wedding reception there as well. Reasonably priced.
