I only give 2 stars because the staff are great! My son attended 2021, he had rats in the lodging!! I would accept "basic conditions" no problem, but rats is unacceptable, he slept on the upper level on the bunk bed, and said he could see and hear them walking above his head on the logs. In the morning, he would have droppings on his sleeping bag! He also mentioned that the food was not enough and he was not allowed to ask for more food (he is a fast growing teenager). If I knew of course I would have never sent my child to this camp..

Beautiful location. Sweet, caring, accommodating staff, good rustic camp facilities. Relaxing. Spent most of my time in the wood fired sauna and lake.

This is an amazing summer camp! There is a wide variety of activities for all ages. I feel like my child grew greatly from all the experiences they had at this camp! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give their child the experience of Independence. I must also say the staff is extraordinary! Everyone comes with a Caring Heart!

This is a great camp. We are the parents of young twin boys and we have sent them the last two summers, since they have been old enough to attend. Each time they returned full of optimism and intelligence, along with total enthusiasm for their summer adventure. Both years we felt as if our boys had grown as people from their experience. Although I am only a parent of boys, I would recommend this summer camp to any parents of either boys or girls for an excellent summer experience for your children. The director and his wife are down-to-earth, easy to talk to people of the real world who immediately made us feel comfortable placing our children in an overnight setting. We sent our children for the past two summers and are absolutely sending our kids back again for their third year. Highest recommendation, and the kids say great food too!
