Four years and counting! My kids have enjoyed Camp Poyntelle. The lake front is incredible (definitely a highlight) , and the field trips keeps things exciting. This camp is very traditional camp and there is something for everyone. A huge shout out to the new director, Jeff.His energy is next level and very contagious!!

This will be my kids 5th and 2nd summers going to Camp Poyntelle. There have been many changes and improvements since they started and I believe this upcoming summer will be the best one yet. They've hired what seems to be an amazing, high energy and eager Director with prior camp experience who has already made a huge impact in the few short months since coming on board. The camp is traditional and no-frills which is what we were looking for with a focus on Jewish traditions such as shabbat every Friday night at the lake. We are not religious and feel like they get just enough to embrace these special moments in a magical enviroment. Very down to earth, warm and inviting. Campers come from all of the US and even Israel - as well as local and international staff. The lake is gorgeous and hands down most campers favorite activity. The campgrounds are beautiful and well maintained. They offer session camp (3 or 4 weeks) or the full 7 weeks. I can't say enough amazing things about the camp and the families we have met. My kids have definitely made forever lifelong friendships and count the days until camp begins again.

This camp is horrible from some of the staff to the way it works but I’m going to share a personal story from last year. I went to camp and the day before a trip outside of camp I broke my finger the nurses said “it’s just fractured” it was not that morning we were leaving I went to one of the directors and said “I need to goto an urgent care is that going to be possible” to which he said “of course your health comes first” when we were out and about I was begging to goto a doctor or anything I was in so much pain and Dre and Zack and Issic I later found out told the only woman counselor on the trip that “we don’t wanna waste our time bringing him to an urgent care because he’s annoying“ I walked around with a broken finger for a week. One day for lunch One day, we were having lunch at a restaurant right across from an urgent care center. We were there for two hours, and they could have taken me in for an emergency, but they didn’t. They had $4000 in debit cards for emergencies. . In addition we were staying in dorm rooms for Four days and I had no way of contacting my parents the fifth day. I emailed my mom when we went to a hotel. When the camp got a call from my mom, they called the counselors and they told my mom “he’s a behavioral issue. He was up all night keeping everyone up.“ This was true. I was up all night because in addition to having a broken finger, I had A double ear infection, and an asthma attack The only counselor that thought to bring me to a doctor Was bar. I also wanna remind everyone that the counselor has told me multiple times they had contacted the camp, but in fact, they never did not even once until they got the phone call from the director asking what the hell was going. when I came home after fighting with the camp, we later learned that because they waited a week and didn’t bring me to a doctor. The broken finger had turned into a broken finger with a spiral fracture down to my wrist. I can now no longer move my finger all the way anymore because we waited so long.This is just one of the horrible things this camp has done to me.

My daughter loved her first year and is very excited to come back this summer. There are so many fun activities and great counselors. The environment is warm and friendly and she felt immediately comfortable. A great camp.
