Camp Mishawaka
Private
Camp Mishawaka is a traditional overnight camp for boys and girls ages 8-16 on the eastern shore of Pokegama Lake near Grand Rapids, founded in 1910. It offers 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-week sessions, capped at 80 boys and 80 girls per session so staff know every camper by name; boys and girls live in separate adjacent camps but share program facilities and eat together. Activities include sailing, swimming, water-skiing, canoeing, soccer, tennis, archery, a ropes course, climbing wall, arts and crafts, drama and horseback riding, plus extended wilderness tripping.

Powered by GoogleOur son went to Mishawaka, then our nieces, and now our grandson. They each absolutely LOVED their camp times! Our grandson calls it heaven, and it is the highlight of his year. Mishawaka is a truly terrific camp in a stunning setting filled with amazing things to do.
Camp Mishawaka is the perfect summer escape from Tucson heat and teenager technology- they don't miss screens at all! My daughter has attended for 6 years and considers camp her happiest place to be. So grateful for her experiences there.
My brothers and I attended Camp Mishawaka in the '80s. My sons have been going for several years, and this summer, we also sent our twin daughters, along with my brothers' 8 year old sons. The magic of this place continues, made even greater by the fact that it's the only place our kids go without their technology. My girls and I are now singing the same camp songs I sang as a camper, and all four have amazing stories from their four weeks away. The camp is intentional about providing a supportive environment where kids learn self sufficiency and responsibility but also just have a really great time.
As a previous Happy Camper 40 years ago, we decided to send both our kids to Camp Mishawaka 4 years ago and every Summer they come back home Happy as can be, and wishing they could have stayed longer. Believe it or not , Teenagers happy to be without any electronics and enjoying all the benefits of the Minnesota Outdoors interacting with their peers.. Every Summer their personalities have blossomed and developed more & more. The values and teachings from Management down to every counselor at Camp Mishawaka has been a great asset to our Kids education. I promise you, you will not regret sending your kids to this amazing place. Axel K.
Camp Mishawaka is not only stunning with natural beauty, our daughters could not have has a better camp experience! It was their first sleep away for two weeks and next season they want to return for four. This is not only because Camp M has a great many fun things to do its in big part because the counselors to the owners are extreamely nice and professional. I wholly recommend Camp Mishawaka to all children and young adults looking for a fun, rich and positive social camp experience.
