Long Lake Conservation Center
Private
Long Lake Conservation Center is a residential environmental learning center on 760 acres in Aitkin County with a private lake, miles of hiking and ski trails, a bog boardwalk and geocaches. Its week-long overnight summer camps serve kids ages 9-15: Forkhorn Camp pairs firearms training with canoeing, orienteering and swimming; Outdoor Explorers Camp teaches survival shelters, wilderness cooking and bog ecology alongside traditional camp activities; and Astronomy Camp uses telescopes to study the solar system and constellations. A family version of Outdoor Explorers was added in 2025. The center has operated since 1963.

Powered by GoogleI was there couple days ago as a field trip I love it there and the beds are comfy
Chaperoned during a spring school overnight field trip. The staff was amazing! They had well thought out activities and backups in case of inclement weather. The kids spent the majority of their time outdoors and were all the better for it. Canoeing, hiking, bog trekking, obstacle/cooperation course, archery, and more!! Highly recommend supporting this organization! Our group learned so much and built memories to last a lifetime!
THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER!!! IT WAS SOOOO WONDERFUL!!! I made such amazing friends too❤️❤️❤️
We just got back from a wonderful trip to Long Lake Conservation Center! The staff were very knowledgeable and professional, and kept everything running smoothly. Communication was great, with where to meet our naturalist for each activity, and what to wear, etc. I'm not sure I could name a single thing I wish could've been done better. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's considering going, and I will definitely be back
LLCC is primarily a nature education facility. It's priority is to provide a safe environment to experience wildlife for the children and youth of MN who are entrusted to their care. In addition, LLCC is a crown jewel for Aitkin County when it is able to accommodate groups for events. On this date, our organization had 4 speakers, a bake and garden sale, an auction and a delicious buffet meal. The facilities are well maintained and suited for our needs. People love to drive to such a peaceful setting in the fall.
