Camp Icaghowan is a YMCA of the North overnight camp established in 1909 on 120 acres near Amery, including a 44-acre island on Lake Wapogasset. It serves campers ages 7-17 with traditional and two-week sessions, horse camp, target sports, water activities, canoe tripping, and teen leadership programs. Older teens can join multi-day wilderness adventure trips.

He absolutely loved it, and I'm leaving a review specifically for any celiac families: I'd reached out to camp staff directly ahead of time because the school didn't provide much info, so I was worried about the food situation. They were great at answering questions and let me know the menu ahead of time. My kid, a very picky celiac, came home talking about how awesome the gluten free food was, and did not have any reactions. He also got "sick of TV" almost immediately when he came back home after 2 days with no electronics, so that was a nice perk. They did climbing, archery, hatchet throwing, canoeing, tie-dying and more. No boredom found here! (Also, we found out first hand that they have a designated shelter for tornado warnings, and the staff coordinated games to pass the time!)
