I'm 20 now, and I remember going here when I was younger. I recall having fun playing with all the other kids, but I also remember the adult counselors being pos to the kids, including me. A couple of instances stand out. I couldn't sleep in the middle of the day mind you and while I was talking to the kid in the bunk next to me, I got yelled at by a grown man with a temper problem. I remember crying for the rest of the day. I thought about that for months after that. Another time, during a class by the lake, the instructor made fun of a kid for having visible armpit hair when he raised his hand to ask a question. If your IQ is low enough, you might think this is funny. But imagine being a 12-year-old boy going through puberty, and a grown man is making jokes about it in front of a bunch of kids your age who are likely experiencing the same thing. I attended this camp for four years and really had no choice not to be because my parents forced me to be there. You don't have to take my advice, but I wouldn't recommend sending your kids here

I went for a Christian men's retreat. They have great food, inspiring speakers and lots of activities. They also offer many other retreats for different age groups and for couples.

Back in the mid/late 70s, the church denomination that I belonged to at that time would rent camp Chetek annually for our high school camp, and I attended frequently. So many wonderful memories! I see the camp has undergone a great many changes over the years, to be expected. Looks really good.👍🏼🙏🏼✝️

Our kids and teens love Camp Chetek! A friendly atmosphere, tons of fun activities, well-trained staff, excellent food, and a steady diet of biblical teaching. I can't recommend this church camping venue highly enough.
