Camp Fire Alaska is an Anchorage-based nonprofit that runs licensed summer day camps across Anchorage and Eagle River. Its Summer Adventure program serves youth entering grades 1-7 at elementary-school sites with sports, arts and crafts, cooking, science, theme weeks, and weekly field trips, while Camp Fireweed at Alaska Pacific University adds museum and nature-center outings. A Counselor-in-Training program serves teens ages 14-15, and the organization also runs the overnight Camp K on Kenai Lake.

★Justyna RaszewskaSummer program at Abbott was absolutely HORRIBLE. I visited my child at lunchtime and it looked like a pack of wild animals set free while the staff did NOTHING. I had to move my child to a different site. In the Fall I signed her up for before and after school program, as she was in last year, and paid for it, and they said I did not sign her up (even though I called and confirmed with them that she was signed up) and they abandoned my child at her school on her first day of school. HORRIBLE.... Staff are late in the mornings, forget to buy food for kids who have allergies.... I was not impressed. My kid attends a different program now and says she never wants to return to Camp Fire. My suggestion is make random visits during the day, you'd be surprised what you'd find.....
