We tried out Camp Doublecreek for the first time this summer for our 5 yo and 7 yo and were so happy we found it! It is a traditional day camp - fully outdoors but with plenty of water activities and shade as well as water stations to rehydrate! Pros: - Huge outdoor venue (camp is currently hosted at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown for the foreseeable future) - Great counselor to camper ratios (way more than you’d think!) and they are well trained - You can order lunch from a different local chain restaurant daily (Chick Fil A, pizza, etc. with vegetarian options available). Snacks are provided (3+/day) - TONS of activities available like sand volleyball, gaga ball, soccer, a swimming pool, inflatables, archery, etc. etc. - Lifeguards in pool and younger kids have swim lessons included. All campers swim daily. - Campers are grouped by age and gender (Ex. Second grade girls group, second grade boys group, etc.) Cons: - Counselors are teens and young adults so not always very focused and can be on the immature side (Ex. Several younger C.I.T.s liked to tell my kids “tall tales”) - Many activities/stations are very loosely structured which can be good or bad depending on your kiddo/s - It’s hot and your camper WILL come home every day gross (sweaty, super super dirty and even muddy, including everything they brought or wore and their backpack!) - There are buses that pick up and drop off around the Austin area but they are often late or early.. we were told bus would arrive by 8 AM and drop off by 5:30 pm but the bus always arrived 8:15-8:35 am and dropped off at 4:30-4:50 pm - It’s not possible to tour or view the camp in advance so you really have to be comfortable with the arrangement and trust the counselors

5 stars will never be enough! My daughter spent her first summer at Camp DC this year and had the absolute time of her life. Swimming, archery, sports, crafts, games, and friendships. Historically a kid that you have to fight to get out of bed was up and ready with her sunscreen on by 6:45 every morning. I cannot thank the staff, counselors, and the owner, Dan, and his family enough for creating such an amazing, safe, and fun environment for my girly to spend her summer in. She’s already looking forward to next year!

Now located at Reunion Ranch in Georgetown, Camp Doublecreek is a wonderful day camp for kids. From swimming, sing song, soccer, miniature golf, archery, arts and crafts, field sports all enchant kids from pee wee girls and boys through elementary grades. Older kids can be counselors in training. Buses pick the kids up early morning at a convenient elementary school in Austin and Round Rock campuses and deliver them back there by 5:00. Kids come home happy, tired and fulfilled. My kids went for years 30 years ago and now we enjoyed visiting our grandson at parent’s day. A true joy to see the camp still operating so beautifully under Joe Ray, who has been there since our kids were there. What a treasure!

We would give this camp 6 stars if possible. My kids look forward to going so much that they talk about it all year. If you want a day camp that will be a core memory for your child, this is the one. They have great catered lunches for an additional fee from Chick fil a etc, the counselors are so fun and easy going (in a great way for kids). Bus pick up and drop off at convenient locations. Sign up EARLY, spots fill up fast!

2020 has been hard on our seven year old. She missed school and her friends. We signed her up for Camp Doublecreek, and it was her best time of the summer. She came home every day on cloud nine, talking so fast about all the fun she had, it was hard to keep up her! It made a huge difference to our family during such a tough time to have our daughter have a such a great, fun experience. Thank you! We’re looking forward to next year!
