Camp Cactus Studio is a longtime art studio in Portland's Grant Park neighborhood, established in 1991 in a converted 1910 garage. Each summer it hosts art camps and workshops for children and youth, such as the four-day Fairy Fest where campers build fairy houses, sew fairy shoes, paint, and write illustrated fairy tales. Programming spans a range of ages.

You won't be disappointed, but if you can come on opening night to get the best choices and also the best food! Jane Russell is the studio owner and amazing artist, illustrator and photographer. She is costume designer to fairy celebrities, or as she calls herself, "The Fairy Atelier" Jane makes fairy dresses, slippers and more, all enchanting. I know Jane also offers wonderful classes for children and adults, though I don't live close enough to join in. But I try to get to each of her shows!
