Our three children have participated in various Calleva camps for the past the seven years and we have had great experience. Everyone from the staff in the office and the camp counselor have been friendly, helpful and accommodating. Our children always look forward to their summers at Calleva.

What a great experience. Three friends and me from Delaware did the Potomac River Tour with Joe. He provided great instruction and other information throughout the tour, and the class I rapids entailed most of the trip. Such fun and highly recommended. I plan to do it again soon with my adult son.

I have mixed feelings about Calleva. On one hand, my kids had a lot of fun at the camp. On the other hand, I had a negative experience with the camp administration. We made plans for the kids to attend the camp with their friends, only to find out that all of their friends were grouped together, but my kids were placed in a different group. This was a bummer for my kids, who felt left out. The camp did not inform us that groupings would be done by transportation method - had we known, we could have planned accordingly. What really tainted my experience is that after learning about the grouping issue, the camp was unresponsive and unwilling to make changes. I was disappointed by the behavior of the camp administration, including its insensitivity and lack of communication. I hope our experience can help inform you if you are considering Calleva camp for your kids, and especially if you hope to coordinate your plans with friends.
