The Burleson Recreation Center, known locally as the BRiCk, runs the City of Burleson's Summer Camp BTX day camp. Camp operates 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with curbside drop-off, the first scheduled activity and camp rules at 8:30 a.m., and pickup generally from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Eleven consecutive weekly sessions run from late May through early August, and the BRiCk also runs day camps over spring break and the winter holidays. Enrollment is capped at 150 campers, filled first-come first-served with the full weekly fee due at registration; a Meet the Counselors night is held before the season starts.

★Jeremy SanchezFYI - They deduct the deposit for birthday rooms by the minute, even if you don’t get into the room at the time your party was supposed to start. Our party started at 1pm, didn’t get in until 1:05 an we got out of the room 2 minutes late so they prorate your deposit. Every lifeguard has different “rules” about the slide requirement. Just sloppy.
★Alika DavisWe visited on Tuesday with my grandson to explore youth programs and summer activities we'd seen advertised on your website. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing from the start. When we asked staff about youth programs — sports clinics, camps, and activities for teens — we were handed a flyer listing only adult aerobics and gym schedules. One staff member told us there was nothing available for teens at all. That wasn't true. After doing my own research online, I found a full sports clinic and several programs serving youth up to age 18. The information was right there on your website — your own staff just didn't know it existed. Beyond the lack of knowledge, there was something about the experience that left me feeling like we weren't exactly welcome there. I can't speak to whether that was intentional, but it was felt. A rec center should be a place where every community member feels seen and included — and we didn't leave feeling that way. I hope staff training improves, and that the programs you advertise are something your team can actually speak to. There's real potential here, but the visit fell short of what was promised.
