Private

Brainiac Tennis is a portable tennis school that brings qualified staff and equipment to schools, community centers, JCCs and Ys to set up makeshift courts, offering group lessons, private lessons and match coaching for kids and adults. Founder Esther Forrester is a former NCAA Division I player who has run children's programs for over a decade, and instruction emphasizes match tactics and shot strategy rather than technique drilling alone. Instructors cover NYC and its suburbs as well as the DC and Philadelphia areas. The official site lists lessons and class schedules only; no summer camp program is advertised.

Who ever takes lessons with Brainiac Tennis, their game improves.

Brainiac Tennis is excellent to work with. Great skill-building, detail and fun for kids and adults. My daughter built up her back-hand and serve after working with Brainiac and it helped her make her high school team!

My kids took lessons with Brainiactennis and loved it. They had hesitations at first but they ended up wanting to play tennis all the time!

Untrustworthy and Unprofessional – Don’t Waste Your Time. I paid in advance for a private tennis lesson and was ignored for five months despite multiple attempts to schedule. See attached. When I finally got a response, the instructor canceled last minute, claiming she was moving out of town — it’s unclear if that was even true or just a lie. This entire experience felt shady and disrespectful. If she wasn’t going to follow through, she should’ve been upfront instead of vanishing. Unreliable, unresponsive, and a complete waste of time. As a small business owner myself, it is disappointing to experience this as I would never just “ghost” someone. I would never recommend this service to anyone. Edit: despite claiming to reach out to resolve this, she still has not reached out. What a scam. Don’t waste your time and money with this fake tennis coach. What a despicable thing to do to continue lying.

Our kid has loved learning tennis. He was lukewarm about tennis before starting tennis, but no he eagerly awaits his lesson each week. The instructional games are fun but also definitely improving his skills with a racket. Would definitely recommend Brainiac Tennis to friends.
