Bow Creek Recreation Center is one of five Virginia Beach Parks & Recreation sites running the city's Recreation Center Camp, a full-day summer child care camp for children who have just completed kindergarten through 5th grade. Days are built around activities, games, crafts and special events, running 6:30am to 6:00pm at $225 per week over a ten-week season from June 15 to August 21, with individual weeks available. Registration opens in blocks, with priority given to families already enrolled in the city's before/after school programs or who attended the previous summer's camps, followed by open registration.

When I was a kid before it was rebuilt it had a strip of motels and a bar right when you turned onto the property. It had an outdoor pool and a golf pro shop (golf course too) and a snack bar. You can have parties here too...(baby shower,bridal party or birthday party!! .
★★★★★J David HilleryI see no reason to not go all the way providing Bow Creek Recreation Center a full 5 stars. It's the newest center in Virginia Beach being completely rebuilt around 8-10 years ago. This was my first visit since it's not in my area. However, I attended a pickleball clinic that was available. Plenty of parking and the area was clean. The center is back in a neighborhood is really the only negative, but not enough to deduct a full Star. There is an outdoor playground at the entrance. It appears a track too! Staff was welcoming when I checked in and directed me to the gym. Bow Creek has a high ceiling entrance of glass. The pool is the first thing you notice. My visit will focus on the gym and clinic. The two staff of Kat and Rob were great providing and overview of the game of Pickleball. I had never played and did not know the rules, the two hour clinic involved actually playing to learn. I walked out with confidence to actually play a game. I'm a huge fan of Virginia Beach Recreation and Bow Creek is a shining example of our new eras of centers. My understanding is others will be renovated/rebuilt over the next 10 years.
★Katrina BurdenMy daughters birthday was held there, and we we're super excited due this being our go to family location for years. Some stuff I was unaware of due to me letting dad handle things but Cynthia introduced herself as soon as I walked in, explained everything and was extremely helpful when I arrived to get the kids to the pool. She definitely help us out a lot and was very professional. We were aware of getting out the room at 4pm but we ran over 5 minutes getting things on the cart and assisting two Elders with walkers 🤷🏾♀️. I was unaware of clean up( they clean after parties), but my family help anyways so it wouldn't be hard on the team as well as it being a natural thing we do. Some stuff was trashed then retrieved by Amy due to myself not knowing about clean up and everyone just helping us get out of the room fast. We take responsibility for that because we didnt know my family was throwing some things away. Amy was in and out to ensure we were getting out but was very rude the entire time and talked junk that my other guest over heard. Over the phone she sounded so sweet. I had to cut her off and let my guess know again that Amy wanted us out the room because she made everyone feel rushed our entire party. Lastly Marcos is my go to for the kids so I was at ease when it was coming from them. When we got our pizza it looked over cooked and my kids and guess barley touch it!! Overall I wouldn't have a party here ever again or go to this location for anything.

I have a lot of anxiety and been thru a lot of trauma in my life, this is the only spot that “feels” like an actual rec center like when i was a kid. A home away from home, judgment free, a peace and a place to get away and center yourself. Everyone there is nice and the staff don’t bother you but yet they’re friendly. I absolutely love this place. Of all the locations i feel most happiest and safe and at peace when i’m here❤️🥳🙏🏼
