Our experience with Albion SC Boulder County this past year (2025- 2026 May ) was mixed. One positive aspect was the consistency of practices. The team trained twice a week, usually in Boulder, and during the winter months practices moved to Lafayette. This was great for keeping kids active and supporting their physical development. However, we did have some concerns with coaching. At one practice, the entire team was made to run an extra mile because of one child’s behavior. For a youth team (around 11 years old), that felt like an inappropriate form of punishment and didn’t seem constructive. I also noticed that players were rarely given the opportunity to try different positions during games or practices until I brought it up to the coach. After mentioning it, it seemed like kids started rotating a bit more. At this age, it feels important that players get exposure to different roles on the field. The costs were also surprisingly high. The club fee is about $1,995, plus a $75 volunteer fee. (Albion did mention that the fee can be refunded if we volunteer? Not sure if I understood correctly) After receiving an “offer” to join the team, families also have to pay $300 fairly quickly to hold their child’s spot. The club does offer financial aid and payment plans for those who qualify, but the overall financial commitment is significant. Uniforms were another frustration. Albion uses Soccer.com for their gear, and purchasing the basic required items for my son (9 pieces) cost $451.17. The number printing quality on the jerseys wasn’t very good at first, but Soccer.com did redo the order. Sucked reordering, waiting and pondering if the uniform will be "right". Our coach for the 2025–2026 season communicated well, which we appreciated. One thing worth mentioning is that at Pleasant View Soccer Complex they do have a helpful support team available when children get injured during home games, which was reassuring for parents. (my son thankfully never got injured at a visitor game. Some parents make it seem like their kids are on the path to being selected by a major league team. Maybe for highschooler? But In our experience, the program felt a bit overrated for the cost—more like a YMCA-style youth program but with more weekly practices and coordinated uniforms. And on a positive note, the parking situation has improved—no more potholes, which is actually pretty amazing! Overall, families should be prepared for the financial commitment and understand that the experience may vary depending on the coach.

I recently had to pull my son from the club due to bullying, several injuries that were never addressed or even cared about, extreme lack of communication by both coach and staff, over priced, high turn over and many other concerns. I emailed and called several people to discuss a refund and I never heard even a no from someone, just no response. Do not recommend this club. I would find something else in the area.

Be warned. The ref’s are homers. They won’t call flagrant fouls. My son was stomped on by another player. No call. On tow occasions after a whisle, fcboulder kept playing causing more injuries. The boys seemed to revel in dirty play. Not a good club from what I saw. They sportsmanship displayed by fc boulder was disappointing. Keeping it classy Boulder

I would not pay for my child to play soccer here if I was the only decision maker. All of my child's friends from school play on FC Boulder teams so I feel obligated to pay for this even though I do not see the value. My daughter's team this season has been extremely poorly managed. The team committed to play a tournament before the school year ever started without ever getting commitments that they would be able to field a full team. They ended up with only 11 players at the tournament and of course 1 got injured. I had asked them repeatedly not to play this tournament and pick something the team could attend after school started. The organization, FC Boulder, then refused to honor their commitment for this team to play a 2nd tournament this fall even though I received emails from the coach and the team manager indicating that we would play another tournament. Ultimately, I paid $1,300 for 8 to 10 weeks of soccer with no tournaments that we could attend. I have provided pro-active feedback as I see poor decision making and money being wasted to no avail. My youngest child is extremely talented at soccer and FC Boulder will not be an option for her. I will look at every other league from Longmont to Lafayette to Boulder to find a club that is more effectively managed. Like an earlier reviewer mentioned, there are bullying problems on these teams. The coaches are either oblivious or turn a blind eye. Either way, the club does NOTHING to team build and foster a team environment. I have seen no signs that FC Boulder really cares about their teams beyond the checks they receive. I would expect a club organization to send leadership out to evaluate players and coaches periodically and provide feedback (by viewing a game and a practice each season) for the purpose of improving the coach and team. I have not witnessed this occurring and since my child's team still can't pass after two years (and these players are 14/15 years old), I suspect this is not going to change.
