BodyVox is a professional dance company in Portland's Northwest neighborhood offering summer dance and arts camps for youth ages 3-20. A half-day camp for ages 4-5 blends movement, music, crafts, and BodyVox's signature ImproVox improvisation, while a full-day, week-long camp for ages 6-10 immerses kids in dance, creative movement, visual art, and music, ending in a Friday family showcase. A pre-professional Junior Artist Generator serves high-school and gap-year dancers.

My granddaughter attends BodyVox for dance lessons. I was invited to their spring recital. What an enjoyable time. They had little ones performing in the sweetest costumes all the way through the high school aged dancers. The choreography was beautifully done. I was impressed with the different styles of dance performed. I would definitely recommend this dance academy.

4.5/5 For classes I would do 5/5–lots of variety and the teachers are great. For performances 4/5, the work is often less edgy and artistic and instead a little white bread.

My granddaughter loves it. She loves everyone there including her hip hop instructor the most. Great place for kids as well as adults!!!!!

Best dance studio in Portland! I've been taking Beginning Ballet with Heather Jackson for over a year and couldn't be happier!! She is truly such an amazing teacher who really has a knack for helping her students learn in a way that feels personalized and also so very warm and inviting! The entire studio staff is incredible and has become one of the true joys of my week. I've made great friends through the classes as well! I did not have any dance experience before starting at BodyVox and my time there has really helped me to gain confidence in dance through ballet! I find that dance truly helps with my mental health as it forces me out of mind and into my body and reminds me the power of being in the present moment

Sekou’s West African Dance class was fantastic experience. I highly recommend. I was a drop in, new as a student and it was a total joy. People were welcoming, all levels of experience, the live drumming was a shortcut to get out of my brain and into my body, we didn’t face the mirrors so I wasn’t distracted by judging myself, and Sekou brings an ease and a love into the teaching. I appreciated being taught the roots of the specific dance we were learning. Oh, and a tip for new comers… bring some cash to tip the drummers (you can also Venmo).
