Bethel Woods Center for the Arts runs P.L.A.Y. (Peace. Love. Arts. You.), a summer arts camp on the grounds of the 1969 Woodstock festival, where children work in music, painting, sculpture, digital design, storytelling, and theater with professional teaching artists. Programming is split by age: one-week P.L.A.Y. All Day sessions across eight weeks for ages 5-6 and 7-9 with weekly themes, two-week P.L.A.Y. Special sessions for ages 10-15 that focus on a single art form such as music, film, or theater, and week-long P.L.A.Y. Labs for ages 10-12 in digital arts, animation, and graphic design in a computer lab. Tuition assistance of up to 100% is available.

Like the festival that was meant for Woodstock but happened in Bethel, everything has its purpose and right time. Even in rain and cold, the museum tour was very valuable. The quest for freedom led many to the libertinism. Most of those 450k people transformed a generation—they did! Some kept conservative values, others lost themselves in fleeting pleasures. Knowing the outcome, I doubt they’d do it again. The 60s freedom fight, amid wars and deaths, led us to today’s ideological war after 1969. They couldn’t have imagined it. The ideological battle is big, I inow, but the internal existential conflict is greater. Just a thought from a simple cultural admirer. Peace 🙌🏽🙏
