First time riding a horse on Father’s Day yesterday and the experience was unforgettable. Olivia was the group guide and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of riding a horse named Turtle and while she definitely fit her name 😂 she was super sweet and gentle. She maintained her distance and space from the other horses and made the ride enjoyable for a first timer. Thanks Olivia and Turtle

The best trail ride with Cane! We were here for a bridal trip, and he was so kind, patient, and fun to ride with. He made the experience memorable for all of us and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. I rode Birdie, and she is such a sweet girl! She was gentle, easy to ride, and made the trail experience even more enjoyable. I would absolutely come back and do it all over again. Highly recommend!

I recently went on a trail ride at Benbrook Stables, and while the ride started out enjoyable, the experience quickly became upsetting. About halfway through the ride, my horse slipped on uneven, muddy terrain and fell, leaning hard to the right and throwing me onto the ground. I landed hard on my back and shoulders on the right side of the horse. It was extremely scary, and in the moment I was so shaken up I could barely process what had happened. I was in shock the horse fell over and slipped, causing me to fall as well. What really disappointed me was the response from the staff afterward. Not a single employee apologized that the horse slipped and I was thrown off… I completely understand that accidents can happen, especially with horses, and I am not blaming anyone for the fall itself. However, basic empathy and concern would have gone a long way. Instead, the response felt more focused on protecting themselves from liability than acknowledging the ruined experience. When I returned, the manager’s first response was essentially, “Oh, so you fell off the horse,” which came across as dismissive and almost as though the accident was somehow my fault. Offering ice afterward did not make up for the lack of empathy or accountability. Days later, I am still extremely sore and may need to see a doctor because of the back and neck pain. I do want to acknowledge that the trail guide at the end of the line, who stayed back with me, was kind and attentive. He checked to make sure I could breathe, asked whether I had hit my head, and made sure my injuries did not appear severe. Still no apology though for my experience being ruined. Another issue was the lack of communication during the incident. My friends had been separated from me on the trail, with one far ahead of me. After hearing I had fallen, she asked the front guide if she could check whether I was okay, but he declined. This left her extremely worried and unsure if I was seriously injured. The lack of communication left anxious thoughts running through her head for the rest of the ride. Due to this experience, I also question whether the horses are being properly evaluated before rides.. Overall, based on my experience, I would NOT recommend this place. Accidents are unavoidable, but your reactions to them are what truly shape a customer’s experience.

His positive energy kept our group engaged, and he explained everything in a way that was clear, knowledgeable, and easy to understand. Benbrook Stables was one of the best trail riding experiences that I have ever been on! I would wholeheartedly come back again! The staff were very knowledgeable about horses, the trails, and everything in between. There was a lot of consideration for people who had never ridden horses before, with a crash course on riding/guiding horses before we began and someone leading and following the group at all times. Some tips I have for anyone thinking about going: - wear jeans (even on hot days, it’s good to cover your lower legs because you go through a forest with bushes/sticks) - bring sunscreen if sun is forecasted (spray yourself away from the stable) - bring cash (they also only accept cash payments)! Our guides were great and deserved an extra tip! - wear close toed shoes (boots are highly recommended) - don’t be afraid to ask questions or for help. Everyone is very knowledgeable and wants you to feel comfortable and safe :) I will definitely be doing another trail ride at Benbrook Stables again soon! 🐴
