The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, a nonprofit shark research and education organisation, runs week-long summer programs for kids at its Shark Center in Chatham. The five-day, half-day program introduces shark anatomy and ecology through hands-on labs and lessons, including shark research demonstrations, engineering challenges, art projects and a spiny dogfish shark dissection. The Shark Center itself is a visitor exhibit with interactive displays and videos on great white shark research, plus a summer-season Fossil Pit where visitors dig for shark teeth.

The displays are text heavy and not nearly interactive enough to keep small kids intersted. Our favorite part was the extra large shark puzzle on the grass outside. I think we spent more time on that vs. inside.
