Aspire Kinetic Arts is a dance and theatre school in Seattle's Northgate neighborhood running week-long summer camps for ages 3-16 from late June through July, each capped at ten students per instructor. Littles Camps (ages 3-6) combine dance, music, visual art, prop-making and story time; Performing and Dance Camps (ages 7-16) rotate daily classes with choreography, improv or conditioning; K-Pop camps run for ages 7-10 and 10-13; and musical theatre camps span ages 6-16, including a Dance All Day Intensive (ages 11-15) and a Queens and Kings of Musicals immersive with industry guests. Most camps run 9:30am-12:30pm or 1:30-4:30pm and end in an informal showing for family.

I have been away from dance for almost a decade, and I still felt like I fit right in. They meet you where you are, but the class was still energetic, challenging and fun. This is the kind of place you can go to make a community, to heal your relationship with your body/dance… I mean wow. Well done team. I wish every studio was like this and I’ll be trying as many classes as I can whenever I am in the Seattle area. My 7 year old has been attending since she was in creative movement classes and has enjoyed everything from dance to theatre classes to performing in A Nutcracker Dream. I have sampled a good number of open classes which are vibrant and challenging without being judgmental. Cardio tap is fast paced and fun and a tremendous workout. After some time off for an injury I’ve just now resumed classes with beginning ballet on Monday evenings, a class I’ve found to be thoughtful and caring with the exact right challenge for everyone involved. John and Erin are wonderful humans and we are so lucky to have this amazing studio in our neighborhood. Many of the kids and parents also go to the local school, Hazel Wolf, and it’s been so absolutely amazing to get to know people I wouldn’t have met through the normal school events. I can highly recommend Aspire to anyone interested in taking dance, beginners to advanced alike.
