ArtSpan is the nonprofit arts-education program of the Lexington Friends of the Arts, based at the Munroe Center for the Arts in the repurposed 1904 Munroe school building at 1403 Massachusetts Avenue. It runs the center's summer day camp for children in grades K-6, Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:00pm, with weekly themes uniting ceramics, drawing and painting, performing arts and a mixed-media makerspace, and campers grouped by grade. Extended day from 3-5pm is available Monday-Thursday, and ArtSpan also teaches dance, theater, vocal music and visual arts classes during the school year.
