The Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads runs Operation Summer Camp for military children ages 5-12 in Virginia Beach, held Monday-Friday roughly 6:45am-5:45pm from late June through mid-August. The STEAM-based program includes weekly themes, weekly field trips, weekly swimming and daily snacks, with subsidies and scholarships available for military families.

Moving to this new area has been hard, operation little learners has been an absolute blessing. My little one was missing friends- this has not only been an amazing outlet for friends for our littles, but also to socialize with other adults and find a community. The ticketed events ('field trips'), crafting, food pantry etc have also been great too! It can be challenging as a military spouse and mother to make friends or sometimes even get out of the house. But this allows us a safe place to do both. We also lucked out and have an amazing teacher in our OLL class!

My daughter has learned so much and they do a lot of fun activities. They had a petting zoo, different community helpers come and a military band perform a private concert. Truly the best preschool!!
