⭐☆☆☆☆ If you’ve ever wondered what laser tag would be like inside a jail cell, this is your place. The “arena” is basically a tiny room with nowhere to run, hide, or actually play laser tag. The kids were given a few small inflatable obstacles to hide behind that looked like they came straight from Temu. Nothing was ready when we arrived. Equipment setup took most of the party time, so the kids ended up with about 20 minutes of actual play. To fill the downtime, staff tried to turn a group of 10-year-old boys into a Mickey Mouse and Bluey dance party. That was… not the experience anyone booked. The party ended abruptly with everyone ushered out the door, and it was clear there was little structure or planning. The kids still managed to have fun because kids make fun anywhere — but I felt terrible for the parent who paid expecting a laser tag party. Maybe this space works for art activities, but for laser tag: go see the space first unless you’re planning a game of flashlight tag in a closet.

ACANJ in Bound Brook is a great local place to take the kids to have fun, do arts and crafts, and enjoy music and dancing. Our toddler loved dancing during music time on stage in between doing crafts. It helped to keep him entertained. We will definitely be back!!

I enrolled my daughters in this art school after completing the online registration process. After registering, I received an email stating that students needed to bring specific art supplies to class. In addition to the registration fee, we purchased all the required supplies. However, on the first day of class, we were told that there was no need to bring any supplies because everything would be provided. This resulted in an unnecessary extra expense that could have been avoided with clearer communication. Unfortunately, the class itself was not what we expected. The setup was a large open space with one big plastic table where several children sat together. During the first class, the activity consisted of coloring pages placed on the table with a bucket of crayons and pencils. We have tried other art classes where the environment feels creative and inspiring—tables are properly covered, materials are thoughtfully arranged, and the studio truly feels like an art space. This did not feel like that at all. My daughters, ages four and six, did not enjoy the class. The instructors did not seem engaging, and they appeared very young and inexperienced. The person in charge, from what I observed, was frequently on her phone during class time. Over the three weeks we attended, my children became increasingly upset and would cry before class because they did not want to be there. While the pricing was mid-range—not cheap, but not extremely expensive—it was absolutely not worth the cost. The lack of engagement, poor communication, and uninspiring environment made this a disappointing experience for our family. I would not recommend this art school to anyone looking to invest in a quality art class for their children.
