I just finished a week as a volunteer during Living Arts Camp and I had a magical week. I helped lead camp media where campers created their own newspaper—complete with original interviews, drawings, and stories—and every camper got to take home a color copy at the end of the week. What impressed me most was the staff. Counselors were fully present and actively involved with the kids—playing, crafting, supporting one-on-one, and making sure every camper felt included. Leadership staff were out and about, connecting with campers, staff, and volunteers all week. One moment that stuck with me: a camper who was homesick early in the week found comfort in a conversation with the camp chaplain. She helped him figure out something he was interested in—he contributed a drawing to the camp newspaper—and after that, he never mentioned going home again. As a parent and a grandparent this is the kind of experience I would want for my own children. Camp Aldersgate offers all the traditional fun you'd hope for in a summer camp—along with caring staff and friendships that can last a lifetime. I feel lucky to have been part of it, and I already look forward to returning next summer.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this camp! It’s truly a great place with incredibly nice and accommodating people who make everyone feel welcome and respected. The atmosphere is peaceful and friendly, and it’s the perfect environment to relax, have fun, and make lasting friendships. There’s never a dull moment here—every day is filled with activities like swimming, canoeing, archery, basketball, and arts and crafts. Evenings around the campfire, singing songs under the stars, are some of my daughter’s favorite memories. The dining hall serves good food, and mealtimes always feel like a big family gathering. From start to finish, the entire experience was positive and uplifting. If you’re looking for a simple camp where you can have fun, learn new skills, and connect with great people, this is the place. Highly recommended!
My daughter has flourished in the last 6 weeks, I was nervous about her going to camp because she is quiet and has a hard time adjusting to new places, but she absolutely loves camp. Camp Aldersgate has been the best thing for her!
Great Camp, amazing staff from the amazing facilities, unbelievable food, and inclusion in nature. My daughter has gone here for years. I wouldn't change a thing! She LOVES every minute she is there!! Fun, varied, nurturing, truly the BEST!!! My daughter loved the camp environment as she felt like it was one big family. From the director to the counselors to the campers; they are all amazing.
