Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center, a Glen Ellyn Park District facility, runs week-long themed sports camps including Backyard Sports, Sports Around the World, and Sports and Fun. Campers spend about an hour a day on the week's theme and the remaining time on games and the fundamentals of kickball, wiffleball, foot golf and frisbee golf, with outdoor time and nature exploration when weather allows. Sessions are half-day: the 2026 Backyard Sports week runs 12:30-3:30pm for ages 10-15, and families register for a morning session, an afternoon session, or both. Enrollment is open through the park district, with resident registration opening a week ahead of non-residents.

Powered by GoogleI had a very disappointing experience with this volleyball . We paid for 2 hours in advance, and the money was charged from our account, but after the payment, we were simply not allowed to enter the facility. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Taking customers’ money and then denying access without any proper explanation is basically a scam. The staff was not helpful at all and did nothing to resolve the situation. No refund, no apology — nothing. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Be careful before paying, because you might lose your money and get nothing in return.
Solid fitness center with good equipment and friendly staff. Unfortunately, it’s disappointing to walk in every day and be met with Fox News—a network synonymous with disinformation, intolerance, and defending the indefensible. That is not what Glen Ellyn or this country stands for, and it detracts from an otherwise excellent community gym.
Excellent workout facility. Large weight and exercise room. Three basketball courts. Indoor soccer field. Indoor running/walking track. Clean locker rooms. Lots of group classes. Great personal trainers.
Big Cat Goalie Camp... first timer, very intense, great coaching, great competition. Lots of small sided drills...fast pace, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We will be back. The facility was very clean & well kept.
My child had a bulls nation basketball camp here and this is a well maintained and clean place. Restrooms are clean and the complex is big! They have a second floor that has a fitness center. The only reason I didn't give this facility a five star is because they don't have a sitting area in the lobby, for parents who are waiting on thie kids. But if they did, at least have benches in the hallways, I would have totally gave it a 5 star review. I've been to many facilities due to my child playing basketball and a lot of them have places for folks to sit while they wait.
