Full-day musical theatre workshops at a historic downtown Northampton theatre, running Monday-Friday 9:00am-3:00pm from late June through mid-August. Students are grouped by age - First Act! for ages 7-9 (one week), Second Act! for ages 10-12 (one- or two-week options) and Encore! for ages 13-16 (two weeks) - and spend the day on singing, dance technique, acting and improv, theater design and rehearsal, with lunch and games outside in Pulaski Park. Each session ends in a showcase on the Academy stage, and no prior experience is required. The nonprofit theatre offers two half-tuition scholarships per session and publishes a sensory advisory covering loud sound, stage lighting and large groups.

My 4 star rating is strictly for the lack of accessibility for people who don't necessarily require mobility equipment. You can purchase seats on the first floor for wheelchair access but you'd be taking that away from someone who does require a wheelchair if you opt for those tickets and everything else in the orchestra is a higher pricing tier. So you're stuck climbing a lot of stairs if you can't afford upward of $100 per ticket. I've loved seeing shows here but this can really ruin it on a bad pain day.
