My 3.5 year old daughter was discriminated against because she has autism and the parent sneak peek threw off her routine and she became destressed and her nervous system began to shut down so she ran to me crying. I was told when I called to speak with a manager about being told my child scares other children that they dont accept children with autism when my daughter has been enrolled for 7 months and ive been very TRANSPARENT about her having the disability before she was even enrolled. I would not support this buisness, their clearly cared more about maintaining their reputation in front of a group of parents than they did a child who has a disability.

I love this studio. This is my daughter’s second year there. They are professional, the recitals are AMAZING and most importantly, they are kind and understanding. My daughter missed a few weeks due to family issues that came and they understood, got her back into class and were just so nice about everything. That’s hard to find in this day and age. We’re from New York and my daughter danced for five years at a studio there and we loved it. I was nervous about finding somewhere in Virginia that could compete with our previous experiences. If anything, the Academy has surpassed them. I am so appreciative of their expertise and their kindness. As long as my daughter dances, it will be with them.

My daughter was at AOD for three years. She was constantly told how great she was but always put in the back on the stage. The skills level and training received does not equal the thousands of dollars that you pour into the studio. Only thing that mattered to them is how many awards they can take home, growing the individual skills is not important. The staff is messy and rude and even continued to trash talk my daughter after she made the decision to move studios in order to better advance in her skills.

My daughter has been with AOD since she was 4. She is now with the AOD competition team, coached by the best, competing with the best in regional and national events. She loves the experience; going to dance is the one thing she wishes to do every single day. AOD staff is professional and phenomenal. The kids are having fun and getting rigorous professional training. This is the place to be if any child (any age >4) would like to learn dance, either professionally or just recreationally.

★★★★★The Brown Family

We love it here. I have two girls in classes. 7 and 4 yo. They both started at 3. I love how much attention the teachers show the kids. There’s only 2 recitals a year so you’re not overwhelmed with show after show. The hours and studio options Give good variety. The production quality of the recitals is top notch. This is not a church gym recital. It’s high quality sound, lighting, video, costumes and props. The owners Jim and Linda are always around and they really get to know your kids and make you feel welcome. My oldest is a Showbiz Kid (company/competition dancer). This is her first year on the Mini Team. She absolutely loves it. I can see her progress with each class! I highly recommend any of their 3 studios!
