2-4-1 Sports is a Greater Hartford nonprofit whose multi-sport summer camps let kids sample many sports rather than specialize, on the idea that skills in one sport build confidence in another. Camps run on college and school campuses including the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, with partnerships across Hartford Public Schools.

From participating in sports they love to discovering new ones, our kids can't wait for the next 2-4-1 camp to start. Some time in January, when we begin planning for the next summer, they ask: "When can we sign up? Have we signed up?" There is no greater compliment to the crew who run 2-4-1 than that the camps feel like big events and our kids can't wait for their arrival. Just as important, 2-4-1 also has a seasoned staff of counselors, many who are multi-sport athletes who believe in the ethos and philosophy of the physical literacy movement. I can't recommend 2-4-1 camps enough.

Both my son and my daughter have had fantastic experiences as 241 campers, honing their skills in the sports they already play – and sampling new ones each summer.
