I signed my 8-year-old daughter up for YAG Summer Camp. Today was both her first and last day. After hearing about my daughter’s experience, I contacted Ms. Norwood simply to make her aware of the situation and to express my concerns as a parent. Instead of being met with understanding, professionalism, or accountability, I was immediately told that my daughter was not telling the truth. As a parent, that response was extremely disappointing and unacceptable. I did not call angry, disrespectful, or looking to create conflict. I called expecting basic customer service, reassurance that my daughter was welcomed and valued at the camp, and confidence that the matter would at least be looked into appropriately. Unfortunately, the conversation left me feeling that my daughter’s feelings and experience were dismissed rather than taken seriously. No parent should walk away feeling that their child is not valued or supported in an environment they trusted enough to enroll them in. Because of this experience, today will be my daughter’s first and last day attending YAG Summer Camp.

I personally want to thank Sabrina for providing an opportunity for my daughter to attend this summer. I must admit I saw something in her on that stage that I will continue to pour into, she’s grown and I have noticed a change in her behavior also. Thank you so much for being a God send during our low vibrational moment. 😊 The kids are so kind as well as everyone else. Sign your kids up. They could use some positivity!!! Everyone was nice!!!
