I had to have shoulder surgery a year ago and didnt do physical therapy like I should have. I saw a lady teaching a man in the pool how to swim. She was giving him tips and advice and I was trying to stare but I was listening too. She asked me if I needed help and then asked me questions about my strokes and how I was doing them. She even showed me how to modify them. At the end of this lesson which I did not pay for she introduced herself as the director of the pool. I never knew bosses to take so much on themselves. She never asked for anything. Now when she sees me she asks about my shoulder and how I am swimming. I am proud to call this YMCA a place of my own.

Although I have not gone here and I won't because the Aquatic Director is my boyfriends ex wife, she is doing good things for the community. The personal issues I have with her have nothing to do with the YMCA and I think that the grant and the news paper article for the autism swim lessons are neat. I have a child that could benefit from them and I know if I called she wpuld not care who I was. As a person she is kind and gentle my boyfriend just would not like it. Overall she is a good person and this is a good place to learn.

Swim lessons have been a great benefit for our granddaughter. She loved her teachers and she's developed a lot of confidence. After group lessons we continued private lessons. She's learned safety in the water as well as swim style. She's made some friends. We added family membership. The aquatics dept is doing a great job!! Thank you!

We call that nine o'clock this morning to confirm.We are non members brought our kids here for family vacation.We get here and they tell us, it's only for members only today.Sorry, can't help you today.Try again tomorrow. Poor service I highly recommend finding somewhere else to go longview is nothing but trash and ymca is no better then its town. If it was possible to give them a zero I would absolutely give them a zero!! Shame on you for sending people away.Because you whack the job service

I have been a member for about two years but I will be terminating my membership at the Longview YMCA as soon as I am able. I noticed that up stairs the men would sit nude in front of the doors of the men's locker room. When the door is open, they are exposing themselves to the children. I have made a complaint about it before online but received no feedback. on 2/5/26 one of the men exited in nothing but a towel to fill his water bottle. I told the woman at the front desk but she responded very condescending and sarcastically. Why would I continue to pay 100 bucks a month and another 100 for special classes a month to be treated so badly when I bring a concern to the employees. I do not know the woman's name at the desk but she is older around 45 with blondish hair. I recommend that you go somewhere that cares about your concerns unless you absolutely cannot afford it.
