YMCA

Greater Peoria Family YMCA runs a full-day summer day camp for children ages 5-10, entering kindergarten through 5th grade. Campers rotate through creative crafts, group games, outdoor play and hands-on activities tied weekly to the Y's core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring, and swim once a week. The camp building opens at 6:30 a.m. with structured activities from 8:30 a.m. and pickup by 5:30 p.m.; fees are $155/week for members and $215/week for non-members plus a $35 family registration fee, parents provide lunch, and scholarships are available (apply first through Child Care Connections).
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact YMCA directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

The staff is great and the hours are decent: The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because theycan’t ever seem to get the temperature right. Complained about the temperature last week as there were other people also complaining about the temperature. Come back a week later and it’s hotter than it was last week. The lady at the front desk says she’s in charge but cant do anything about the fact that it’s almost 80 degrees in the workout area. Well if she’s in charge and can’t do anything who can? Seems like this should be a simple fix. It’s sweltering before you even start working out.
Great pool, workout area and staff. The staff make this place pop. Great people.
My experience was not great this year nor was it for my child. The teen reach program has no control over the behaviors of the kids. My daughter had a incident happen to her that was traumatizing and the leader of the program didn't take good steps to getting things in order. My kids will never go back to their teen reach program or their summer camp. The counselors are rude to some of the kids and immature. I'm not happy with my experience at all with this program! I will be contacting supervisors. Very toxic and out of control!
Very functional well equiped old school gym. Nautilus and hammer strength equipment and specialized lifting tools like reverse hyper and gluteham machine.
