I would strongly advise families to stay away from Camp Woodstock. What’s advertised as a fun, supportive summer experience felt, in my opinion, much closer to a toxic environment. The cabins are in poor condition and seem like they’re barely maintained—they’re literally falling apart in places. More concerning is the culture among staff. Instead of building genuine friendships, there’s a noticeable pressure to conform, and what I experienced felt less like community and more like exclusion and hazing.
Love Woodstock, and Woodstock is Love. Woodstock ushered me into a utopian community for the first time in my life, and gave me a reference point and a high bar for quality living never to be forgotten. Woodstock is forever.
This camp is soooooooooo cool. You get to meet new people who come from all over the world. Yes, I do mean the world. There are so many amazing counselors who are all very funny and make this camp really feel like home. All the people in my cabin were very welcoming and if you've never been to a sleepwalking camp before.
Been to Camp Woodstock with groups that rent it in the off season for 15+ years. I've always enjoyed the facilities, landscape, and watching how they develop and upgrade them. Staff have always been friendly and gone out of their way to help.
