Have had some of my greatest experiences and have met some amazing people at Menogyn and I could not recommend it more. Except for please make the feedback forms slightly more anonymous it is so much harder to give actual feedback when you know your guide is sitting down and reading them. Especially if you want to go back again. I love all my guides so much and they have all been amazing, except for Ben, he was a miserable guide. Thank you for all the memories Menogyn.

I think it was about 1959 and I was 14. Long time ago but a life changing experience I still remember (I think). My dad tricked me and a couple of friends into going to Menogyn. We thought it would be a lark. By the second day outbound I thought I was nearly dead. Things got better and better. I was so proud of portaging the canoe. I remember drinking the lake water out of a tin cup. Somebody told me there is a dangerous moose parasite that makes that not good. I remember the parchment lake maps and that there was no lake where the map said there was one. It was a mud flat to trudge across. I remember the sauna on the dock at base camp and jumping into the lake. Keep on trudging cross that border trail son's of camp Menogyn

im 26 now and went to many YMCA camps growing up. I hiked in montana, i spent countless weeks in the BWCA with guides who honored the land and instilled a level of grit in me that i still carry. Incredible memories that I now make with my friends heading our own expeditions.

Came here when I was 15. I'm 64 yrs old now. Camp Menogyn literally gave me a lifetime of memories. I was just a scrawny kid then and wondered what I had gotten myself into the first time I portaged with a canoe on my shoulders. I learned a lot about myself and what I was made of. I was just a spoiled kid from Dallas when I got to Camp Menogyn. After several days in the wilderness in the north woods of Minnesota, I came home battered, bruised, scratched, but not beaten. I came home tough and with a true feeling that I had accomplished something great. I, in part, contribute Camp Menogyn with making me a better and much stronger man with lessons that I've cherished all of my life.

Took several trips through the Boundary Waters and Quetico throughout high school. Great being totally isolated in true wilderness without any signs of human interference. Truly beautiful and wild. Everyone should be able to experience true nature and the outdoors in places like this through organizations like the YMCA.
