Powered by GoogleI can’t put into words how special this studio is. If you want a safe, fun and encouraging place for your daughter or son to learn dance fundamentals and make lifelong friends, this is it. It’s a low pressure studio but also keeps parents, dancers and kids accountable to the commitment of dance. My 5 year old has flourished in her 3 years with Wishes. The community that’s been built here is really something special. Can’t wait to watch my daughter dance here for many years to come!
My daughter has been dancing at Wishes for almost six years now. It was the positive, supportive environment she needed as a beginning dancer. As she grows older, I love that the friendships she made at a young age continue as they are learning to support and cheer each other on. The class offerings have multiplied, and the skill level has increased thanks to the amazing teachers. Beyond basic dance classes, she can take modern, contemporary, acro, musical theater and conditioning classes. The studio has recently added the option of competition for all of their performance companies. I am so thankful for Wishes and all they are providing my daughter!
We've been at Wishes off and on for the past 9 years- but currently have been there for the past 2 years consistently. We have found a place that both girls love to dance, but also friendships that will last a lifetime. This dance studio cares just as much about dance, as they do making the kiddos feel welcome and accepted.
Wishes is great in so many ways. Pros: My kid really connects and loves her teacher. They are friendly. My kid has had a major improvement in confidence related to Wishes. Though that does involve my positive encouragement and positive affirmations. They usually have a possibility of keeping classes to 1 day/1 recital day. Lots of fun events that enrich my daughters life. My kid loves the recital and smiled the biggest smile when she was on stage. All the teachers are well skilled in dance. Their are some A+ teachers their. Cons:
I am going to give an honest and fair review of Wishes Dance Studio as my daughter has been dancing here for 9 years. I feel as though I am in a place where I’ve seen about every aspect and angle of the studio and have a lot to say. I’ve seen it grow from a smaller space, to including extra rehearsal rooms as the demand for more classes has continued to increase. And all for good reason. There is a reason we’ve stayed with Wishes for 9 years and I hope to explain further here. My daughter is very involved and takes now up to 10-15 hours of classes each week. They offer so many genres (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, etc.) and she takes them all at this point. She continues to be challenged and her skills have grown in amazing ways thanks to the absolutely wonderful staff and teachers. We’ve seen all levels of the studio from the preschool classes where she began, to the higher advanced levels where she is now and they have all been exactly perfect for each age and skill level. The preschool teachers have a kind and nurturing quality and make the classes fun for the beginners and the older kids continue to challenged by the highly technically skilled teachers who keep them working at their peak while continuing to keep it fun. The opportunities for the kids outside of the classes is also phenomenal. Yes, there is a recital at the beautiful Paramount theatre in Anderson each spring as well as a festive Christmas show each December. But that’s only the beginning. My daughter has danced at halftime shows for the Harlem Globetrotters, the Pacers, performed at Victory Field and more here in Indy. But the studio also travels. This past fall they danced in the parade down the Magic Kingdom main street at Walt Disney World. And this past January, my daughter got to compete with Wishes at the Tremaine dance competition downtown Indy. If you’ve kept reading through my novel of a review, I hope you take away how absolutely amazing this studio is. The owner is so friendly and all of the staff genuinely care about the kids and helping them perform their very best, no matter their age or skill level. And I didn’t even mention that kids can be super involved or dance recreationally. Either is perfectly fine. They want each kid to get the experience they are looking for. To end, I am so grateful we found this wonderful place all of those years ago and cannot imagine our lives without Wishes!
