Private
Willow Bend Learning Center is a Montessori-inspired childcare and preschool in Plano (ages infant through school-age) that runs Camp Willow Bend, a full-day themed summer camp (about 7am-6:15pm) for enrolled children. Weekly educational themes bring hands-on projects, field trips and co-curriculars such as yoga, gardening, cooking and languages. It is an independent, long-running licensed center rather than an overnight or specialty camp.

Powered by GoogleI chose this school because of Mrs. Betty in the front office. From the beginning she has been warm and inviting. My daughter and I love her teacher Ms. Olivia. She has always been kind and I can tell that my child is learning social skills as well as academic concepts. I appreciate the small notes she sends home and the pics uploaded to the daycare app. I feel very comfortable leaving my little one with her. Communication and response time could stand to improve on the director’s end. I was also told my child couldn’t bring her own snack. I find it a bit odd to give a child access to only school provided snacks or foods. The rule couldn’t be due to allergy risks because there is a sack lunch day that requires food from home. Overall, my child has enjoyed her time at Willow Bend so I am pleased.
I highly recommend WBLC for infants, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. The variety of activities they offer during class is wonderful, and the way they celebrate festivals and involve parents in every festive activity truly makes the school feel like a community. Their daily routine is thoughtfully planned with reading, crafts, outdoor play, and many engaging learning activities, everything is simply amazing. The teachers and supporting staff are caring, dedicated, and truly make a difference in the children’s growth and happiness.
My daughter has been going to WBLC since she was 3 months old and is now 2 1/2 years old. I am thrilled with the experience she gets there and the warm environment the teachers provide. The building is bright, clean, and welcoming. At each stage from infant room to toddler, the schedule, teachers, and classroom setting is tailor made to the child's needs. including sleep schedule, sleep environment (crib/cot), and mealtimes. Besides for taking great care of the child's physical needs, they are also teaching the children. colors, numbers, socializing skills, getting along/conflict resolution, literacy, and writing their name. Many parents have nightmare stories of their children being constantly sick when attending a daycare setting. In my experience, that has not happened for us at WBLC! In the nearly 3 years she has attended; she has missed less than 5 days of school for being sick. This is a testament to their cleanliness, and routine with keeping the children's hands washed. They have a wonderful outdoor area, and the children spend time outside everyday getting fresh air and getting their energy spent. Each morning my daughter (and I) are greeted with a warm smile and "good morning" greeting. Shout out to Ms. Savi!! She goes happily to her classroom which gives me confidence she feels safe, content, and well cared for. Upon pickup, my child is always well kempt, hair is tied up, clothing is clean, clean face, and clean pamper on. Belongings are also always returned, and I have not lost anything (pacifier, jackets, lunchboxes, swimsuit) in the years we have been there. If you have children, you know how impossible it is to accomplish this! As a working Mom, the hours are accommodating and the cost is very reasonable! I'm so happy with WBLC and highly recommend you sign your child up to attend here!
I highly recommend WBLC to anyone in the Hightower/Saigling zone, or to anyone who works in the area. We had at least one child enrolled at WBLC continuously between 2018 and 2025. I think we hit up every service they offer--classroom instruction from infants up to Senior Pre-K, after school care, summer camps, one-off holidays, even loaning a teacher for in-house babysitting once. Our experience with all of these services was outstanding. The teachers were responsive, daily reports were helpful, and the incident reports handled with care. The kids enjoyed the field trips, splash days, and parades, and I felt that they were adequately prepared for kindergarten. I can only recall 1 (one) instance over those 7+ years where I raised concerns with admins, and it was promptly addressed. Our family's made a few long-lasting friendships with other families, too.
Our little one has been attending school at Willow Bend LC for close to three years now. After my wife's maternity leave ended, we decided we needed to enroll her somewhere we trusted, and after having a good experience with our oldest there several years earlier, immediately went and signed her up. The thing that made me the most nervous when dropping her off is that my daughter had, until that point, never slept outside of my bed and on myself. We had tried to put her in a crib dozens of times and it never stuck. They had her crib trained on the FIRST. DAY. Since attending she has become increasingly advanced for her age, as well as all of her friends of which she has many. We enjoy the communication the faculty provide, and our toddler reports she had a "good day at school" nearly every day.
