I have sent all three of my children on one or more excursions with WA over the years; from Hawaii to the Alps, and places in between. I have so many great things to say about this group by I'll try and sum it up... It starts with a very organized and passionate group who plan these excursions very well. They hire and train great team members to be prepared for all types of scenarios. Many of the Trip Leaders on my kids' adventures previously attended the trip as a student. That in itself says a lot. Cell phones are taken away at the start of the journey. I cannot stress enough how huge this is. Each time my child returns from one of these adventures, I honestly hear HOURS of stories, which can only be made possible by being there in the moment, and fully interacting with the group you are with. I'm certain that these adventures will have a lasting impact on my kids in so many ways. Thank you WA!

Wilderness Adventures' Hawaii Island program was life changing not only for my 14 year old son, but for me as a parent. My son can be quick to put up a wall until he feels comfortable with people and activities. The level of support he had from his WA leaders and their level of understanding in getting to know him on an organic level was truly moving. I am so thankful to WA for putting a program together that allowed him to shine. He grew more physically and emotionally than I could have ever hoped for. Hands down, WA was the best experience for us. I have never heard him be so enthusiastic about a program that didn't involve being on his phone or sitting on a computer. The leaders on Jack's trip are special humans and it speaks volumes as to how important WA's mission is to them--to educate youth about the wonder of the outdoors and help their perspective of themselves and the world grow to depths they didn't know possible. I am beyond impressed with the level of care shown to my son as well as the communication WA shared with me as a parent. We are already signed for a new Wilderness Adventures trip for Summer 2025 and cannot wait.

I had the opportunity to be part of the Alaska Southeast trip through Wilderness Adventures and I can say that it was the most incredible trip I’ve ever been on. Wilderness Adventures cares so much about not only the safety of the attendees but they also create an experience that will stick with you for the rest of your life. The trip leaders were knowledgeable, professional, passionate and respectful. They made sure everyone felt safe and created an enriching environment. The scenery was breathtaking and layout of the trip was set up perfectly. Whether we were hiking, kayaking or mountaineering, every moment was perfectly curated to highlight the natural beauty of the environment. I can’t recommend Wilderness Adventures enough! It was a stunning, adventure packed trip with top of the line leaders and guides who supported everyone and made the trip one of a kind.

Wilderness Adventures offered my 15 year old son an unparalleled outdoor experience this past summer. My son went on a 35 day hiking tour of the great Northwest. The group was led by three councilors that he loved: Lev, Willa and Katherine. When he got home, he shared photos of the most breathtaking natural landscapes! White water rafting, surfing, sleeping on beaches under the stars, cooking, camping, swimming in glacial lakes - they had such a great time. They even connected the kids with experienced guides who supplied lots of wisdom and lore. Every moment of the trip by Wilderness Adventures was meticulously designed to challenge and inspire the campers. I was most impressed with how they handled an issue: 12 hours before my son was set to return from Seattle to New York, his flight was canceled. I really panicked. But there was no need to – the situation was quickly, expertly handled by Rachel S. I could not believe how receptive and wonderful she was! I give my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a great experience for their teen!

My daughter recently returned from a 3 week Wilderness Adventure trip to Alaska. Her experience was nothing short of life changing. The leaders were AMAZING, safety was a top priority and fun was had from beginning to end. The growth and confidence I saw in my daughter when she came home was incredible. As a parent, I appreciated the communication I received from our coordinator leading up to the trip, the multiple conversations we had about gear, what to expect and how best to prepare for a 3 week excursion (for both my daughter and myself). I can’t think of one thing I would change about this experience! 5 stars isn’t enough!!
