★★★★Austin GraffFor our annual church retreat, a whole group drove from Washington, D.C. to Pennsylvania to stay at White Sulphur Springs. More like a hotel, our weekend stay was a positive one. Here’s why. 1) Accommodations: There’s the main lodge with rooms that feel more like a hotel I’m told. Due to overflow, we stayed at the recently-renovated Harrison House down the hill. It’s a 19th century house with its original slanted staircase. We were in a suite with two small rooms and an even smaller bathroom. There was AC/heat and hot water. Rooms came with linens and towels, but no bath soap or shampoo. 2) Food: Each meal came with a salad bar for more healthy options. One breakfast we had an egg casserole and baked oatmeal. For a lunch, we had roast beef sandwiches and dessert. The food was decent. 3) Space: There are plenty of community spaces, a large back yard, porch with chairs, playgrounds, and a game room. It’s kept clean. 4) Activities: On a massive property, there are trails, horses, a high ropes course with a zip line, and other activities. 5) Staff: Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
