Allegany Boys Camp is a year-round residential wilderness program in Oldtown, Maryland, serving about 25 boys ages 9 to 16 who are struggling emotionally and behaviorally at home and in school. Campers live outdoors in small groups and combine wilderness camping with education and behavioral support; the nonprofit is Mennonite-affiliated. It is a therapeutic residential program rather than a recreational summer camp.

This is a great place for boys who have life and family struggles. The staff takes them to levels that the civil government can't come close. They live in groups in tents in the woods and learn how to cook, work through daily struggles, and prepare for the future such as getting enough firewood ready for the winter.

You guys can sit there all you want and try to pretend you're something you're not we know what really actually happens when the lights go off at this sick camp.

They were very welcoming when my group came to visit. They even let stay at their place. They also gave us a tour of Camp.

Well let me start with that my son Steven graduated yesterday from the camp! So with that said I do have a very hands on opinion of the ABC! In my opinion it is a very wonderful well educated camp with great people there! As well as very accommodating to each and every boy/family they come in contact with! We were nervous and not quite positive about sending our son. At the time I did send him our family was really in need of a blessing. All I can say today was I didn't "ALWAYS" feel like it was a blessing....I mean to the point we almost pulled him out a few times but sitting here today I can say I am excited for my son and his future in life as well as with the relationship's he begins to rebuild!! As I am sitting here, 2yrs later...I'm FINALLY excited for my "WHOLE" family's future!! TRUTHFULLY I feel like we got the "BLESSING" we really needed to be the best we can be together! We will always have something to work on to be the best me or you! BWe can really see the foundation that the camp gave our son! Thank you "ALL" for your hard work with everything you do and have done in the past. ABC Family Forever, The Owens Family
