Love going to this gym. Location is great from my home. I feel that it is accessible for all. We appreciate the caring staff in the childcare. They make a great effort to have relationships with their families. Liberty and other staff we see daily give us a warm welcome and appear to genuinely care for my children. I recommend the YMCA to any moms who are looking for a gym with good childcare.

Never greets when you walkin! They always look unhappy to be there! Been a member three years they never greet me in! Forgot my lock one day they tossed my personal items in a garbage bag and said “at least it was a clean garbage bag” I don’t appreciate it at all! Mind you this lock policy is very new! And something I needed to get use to but if they would greet u and mention anything when u walk in maybe I would’ve known it was required! Customer service sucks! Needs new staff!

I like the YMCA overall because it’s affordable and has a lot of equipment and programs, but one thing that really needs to be addressed is the smell. The building often has a strong, unpleasant odor that honestly smells like old people and stale air, and it’s been like that for a long time. It makes working out uncomfortable and kind of ruins the experience, especially when you’re trying to focus or breathe properly during a workout. I feel like this is something that could be fixed with better ventilation or more frequent deep cleaning. The YMCA has a lot of potential, but the ongoing smell issue really needs attention.

Last summer, I had a troubling experience at this YMCA. My phone was stolen from the locker room by a young girl. When I asked her about it, she admitted to taking it and led me to her backpack, where she returned my phone. I suggested we go upstairs and inform an adult, but she became upset, so I decided to report it myself. Unfortunately, when I went upstairs, the situation escalated quickly. The swim instructor and the grandmother threatened me and even called the police. The police found that I had done nothing wrong, and the incident was recorded on camera, with my children corroborating my account. Despite this, the management did not take any appropriate action. The girl and her grandmother were not removed, and I felt unsafe and traumatized by the entire ordeal. I’m sharing this to warn others that there were issues with theft and a lack of proper response from the staff. This is why we no longer feel safe at this YMCA. I have a video of the staff yelling at me if anyone wants to see the type of behavior they condone. The staff member was not fired. He did leave the Y but not because he was let go.

Bailey with aquatics is very unprofessional and treats kids horribly. During swim lessons he was observed to be very aggressive with the 4 year olds. He told my son he could not give him an extra high five because he had another class. Mind you my son is 4 years old he’s a kid! Then he proceeded to stand to dry off without beginning another class. Bailey doesn’t deserve to work with children if he doesn’t understand how to speak to them and show them respect. As a parent this was very upsetting. Oh and someone else; a stranger told me to stay close to my son during lessons because of how they observed my son was being treated.
