Weathervane Playhouse at 100 Price Road in Newark has been a professional summer stock theatre since 1969 and runs youth education through the Weathervane Theatre Academy and the Weathervane Young Artists Repertory Theatre (WYART), whose summer camps end in youth-led productions. Camps are grouped by grade level; audition material is provided and roles are assigned on the first day, so no prior audition is required. The academy also offers an apprenticeship track giving older students hands-on work in technical theatre alongside the mainstage season; daily camp hours are not stated on the pages reviewed.
