The Watauga Community Recreation Center is a Watauga County recreation center in Boone with indoor courts, pools, and an indoor track. The county Parks & Recreation department runs multi-week summer day camps here and at partner sites, including Summer Adventure and Fun in the Sun camps for ages 5-13 and a Teen Extreme camp for rising 7th-9th graders, running Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm.

★Jay EdwardsStaff are incompetent, and aside from managers, have no power. I was incorrectly charged $700 by the staff on a Saturday morning, and they have no way to refund the charge. Refund must be made by supervisors. Management does not work weekends. Staff played it off like it's not a big deal, and I just need to dispute it. I disputed the charge via my bank, but the return will take 5-10 business days. Use Debit Cards here at your own risk. How about the staff venmo me $700 for me to hold for 10 days. Would that be a big deal to them?
★★★Rachel Lycan WardA lovely facility and state of the art. It’s not great for family schedules - one cannot easily swim after school or Saturday mornings. The courts are plentiful but there aren’t times kids can easily play basketball and enjoy the space in the winter. Sadly, this means we won’t be able to justify the expense. Hopefully the schedules will adjust to accommodate families with young children and we can be back.
