My daughter has been a student at Vargas Academy for three years now, she started at age 3. Coach Josh has been absolutely amazing. He is incredibly patient and he goes above and beyond to make the kids feel safe.. He is a phenomenal teacher and human. He has a very outgoing and fun energetic personality which the kids are all drawn to. He takes his time with each child to ensure that skills are developed and progress is made. We love this place. Vern is super nice and Stephanie is amazing, I just love her! Lord willing our daughter will continue with Vargas Academy for many more years!! Money VERY well spent!!

My daughter has been taking gymnastics with Coach Josh at Vargas Academy for over two years, and we couldn’t be happier. He’s incredibly caring, kind, and patient with all the kids. You can tell he truly loves what he does. He makes every class fun while still teaching great skills and technique. Recently, my daughter moved up to Level 1 and felt a little nervous about being with older kids. Coach Josh took the time to talk to her, reassure her, and make her feel calm and capable. After that, she was smiling again and couldn’t wait to go back to class. He always makes the girls laugh, keeps the energy positive, and creates an environment where kids feel comfortable and confident. It’s exactly how a coach should make a child feel: supported, encouraged, and proud of themselves. Also, Stephany, who is in the administration, is always so helpful and kind. She’s super nice and always makes everything easy for parents. We’re so grateful for everything they do and for how much they’ve helped my daughter grow and love gymnastics

Both of my girls have been going to Vargas for over a year now and when we started, gymnastics was a new sport for our family. We’ve been so grateful for the incredible and supportive environment Vargas has created for them to learn and grow. Josh, in particular, was a wonderful advocate and source of encouragement for my younger daughter when she felt a bit discouraged in the beginning. Lilly and Vern have also been amazing in continuing to build her confidence. Josh has been a fantastic, thoughtful, and engaging coach for my older daughter as well, challenging her in the best ways and motivating her in a way that truly boosts her self-belief. All of the coaches and staff at Vargas have been consistently supportive, respectful, communicative, and helpful. We’re so grateful to have Vargas in our local community! We love Vargas, their coaches, and their entire staff!

This guy Josh was insanely rude and disrespectful to me and my toddler three times in a row. Josh clearly has no kids of his own, and he seems frustrated with his job, taking it out by being harsh toward little kids. I absolutely do NOT recommend this place to any fellow parents. Having an angry, disrespectful, and unkind instructor will only teach your kids to act like Josh — and that’s not how you win in life. We ended up going to a karate martial arts academy instead, where the instructor is knowledgeable, intelligent, and a truly great role model for the kids. Plus, in my opinion, karate is way better than gymnastics anyway. Most importantly, I would never let someone like Josh ruin my child’s spirit by modeling such toxic behavior. And, one more thing: the karate lessons are way more affordable.

Our family truly loves Vargas Gymnastics! All three of my children have taken classes here, and my 12-year-old daughter has been on the competitive team for the past five years. She has learned so much and has continued to build her skills and confidence year after year. Being part of the competitive team has been such a great experience—we love traveling with our gym family and watching the athletes show off all their hard work. We love how encouraging and supportive the athletes are of one another. We absolutely love Vern, the owner and competitive team coach. He does an incredible job motivating and pushing the gymnasts. The entire coaching staff is amazing, all very kind and well-trained. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with quality equipment. Vargas Gymnastics is the best—highly recommend it to everyone!
