★Jorge JimenezTraumatic Coaching and Predatory Billing We had a great start at California Sports Center with wonderful coaches, but everything changed for my 5 year-old daughter when she moved up a level. The new coach was incredibly rough and aggressive. It was disturbing and heartbreaking to watch a 300lb lady physically pull and push a 40lb child. My daughter was so traumatized that she now cries just passing by the building. She is terrified to go back. When I tried to cancel on time due to this aggressive behavior, the manager was completely unhelpful. He insisted on a 30-day notice policy, effectively charging me another $160 for a child who is literally too scared to enter the gym. Unless you can predict 30 days in advance that a coach will be aggressive toward your child, expect to lose your money. They told me the $160 would stay as a "credit," but why would I ever bring my traumatized child back to a place that allowed her to be treated this way? It feels like a total theft. Hygiene: The facility has a constant, overwhelming "stinky socks" smell. They try to mask it with heavy scents, but the combination is nauseating. Value: Be aware they have several weeks/months off throughout the year where no classes are held, yet you are still expected to pay full price. And no make ups at all, so you lose money there also. A gym should be a place where a child feels safe and empowered. Instead, my daughter left in tears and we left $160 poorer. We will never go back. Save your money and your child’s mental well-being—look elsewhere.

The coaches are wonderful, the facility clean and safe, and the front desk staff is happy and competent. We even did our last birthday party there. It is an exceptional gym.
