Up The Middle (UTM) is a 5,000-square-foot indoor sports and fitness training facility in Belmont with four batting-cage lanes, video hitting/pitching analysis, and strength equipment. Lanes rent to individuals, teams, and coaches, and the facility hosts USA Prime Peninsula, a professionally coached youth baseball/softball academy for age groups starting at 6U. It functions as a training facility and academy rather than a fixed summer day camp.

★★★★★Chris OstrowskiCoach Drew and his staff don't just know baseball mechanics inside and out, they also know Physics. And they are inseparable in their coaching. I'm fascinated watching Up the Middle lessons. Instead of telling a kid six different things to think about while throwing or hitting, they'll do six different drills, each one informing a different element/body mechanic of the form. They repeat these drills until the kid's body knows each without thinking and is able to put them together into a stinger throw, a confident catch, or a crusher hit. Like so many parts of an engine coming together. They are also goal driven, which makes a huge difference for how much fun it is for the kids as well as for the rate of improvement. I'm amazed at the progress my son has made developing his physical intelligence at Up the Middle. These guys are as much scientists and mechanics as they are coaches. It's rare to find this level of excellence.
