I am extremely disappointed in Turf Football. This is now our third season participating in this league, and unfortunately, this has been the most discouraging experience yet. We signed our son up under the understanding that this is a recreational league a place where kids can learn the fundamentals, develop confidence, and compete on evenly matched teams. In a true rec league, teams are intentionally balanced so every child has a fair opportunity to grow and experience success. That has clearly not happened. One team remains completely undefeated and it just so happens to be the owner’s team while my son’s team has not won a single game this entire season. When one team dominates every week and another cannot secure a single win, that is not accidental imbalance. That reflects deliberate team stacking, not recreational fairness. It is incredibly discouraging as a parent to watch your child work hard week after week, only to feel defeated before the game even begins because the competition is so clearly uneven. We are trying to teach our son about sportsmanship, integrity, perseverance, and playing the game the right way but it becomes difficult when the structure of the league itself does not reflect those same values. All parents pay the same fees. We pay registration costs. We pay for team jerseys. We pay for practices. We pay admission to games. We purchase parent jerseys. We spend money on snacks and concessions at facilities that do not allow outside food or drinks not even water. The financial commitment is significant, and families deserve an experience that aligns with what was promised: a fair, recreational league focused on development. Instead, this league feels focused on creating a winning team rather than developing all players equally. At this age and level, the priority should be teaching skills, teamwork, confidence, and love for the game not ensuring one team remains undefeated. After three seasons, it is extremely disappointing to see things handled this way. I truly hope the league reevaluates how teams are formed and remembers that recreational sports are supposed to be about all the kids not just one team. - only posted a review because my comment on Facebook was deleted.

Brought my son here about 2 years ago to try out soccer. Best decision in the world, love coach Robert and how he teaches and instructs the kids. Moved him to football here as well it’s just amazing with the atmosphere. Wish they would keep soccer going past 10 year old. Hate to move my son to a different complex 😞

If I could give a 0 I would.. this place screams daddy ball. Coach Alex only plays the kids that I’m sure pay him for private lessons. This place is a joke the whole time it’s about, after school care or sponsorship or anything about money.. $185 for a dry-fit is crazy.. These coaches take it way to serious not thinking about the kids feeling, drive or love for the game. Only that they win and beat each other using these kids. If your kid is advanced like mine but trained elsewhere not “ turf trained” don’t even bother.. Save your $ and go to a league who care about the kids. Putting my son here killed his momentum and drive. They truly don’t care about the kids feeling. I even reached out to the coach and no response that right there tells me he never cared about my son’s feelings or continued grown in a different position then he plays with his normal league. That I had previously experienced my thanks for allowing him to work at it but shortly afterwards he didn’t allow him to play anymore. He is a horrible person but yet preaching the word of god to you and praying with the kids. It’s crazy! More people need to speak up and get this place exposed.

Turf has been a second home for us! We have been so grateful to the friendships and people that we have met there throughout the years. My son started soccer and flag football at 8 years old at turf and he is now 13. He has formed a bond with many different coaches at turf and as a parent, I love to see the focus on the development of a child. The coaches we’ve played with have help sharpen our son’s skills on the field but also skills such as discipline, commitment, and character. I also don’t see daddy ball since the coaches have a draft; another big plus is a turf field as opposed to some of the grass fields that are used in other leagues. I have even had the privilege to help out and be an assistant coach in this past summers flag football league. I’ll be sad to watch my son’s last game at Turf next summer but he has expressed the want to come back as a coach and give back to the Turf community. Thank you Turf and coaches for being a vital part of my child’s growth. If you want the best training in the coastal bend we recommend Turf Sports Complex! Our son is #turftrained!

We absolutely love Turf, they are family to us!!!! Our boys have been going there since they were 5 and 3 1/2, they are now 12 and almost 8. Our oldest is quarterback and youngest plays wide receiver. We enjoy every season and always can not wait for the next one to start!!! We love that there is no daddy ball here, it is a healthy competitive atmosphere!!! Our boys have become phenomenal athletes because of Turf and their coaches!!! We love all of the coaches here, but we have always had a special connection with coach Johnson!!! Can't wait to play this season on the new Turf field, it is beautiful!!! #turftrained
