Thornton Baseball Association, founded in 1956, is the city's oldest and largest youth baseball association, with more than 700 local kids playing each year. It runs a registration-based recreational season for ages 4-14 rather than a camp: the Shetland division (ages 4-6) plays a 12-game season with hour-long practices twice a week, the Pinto division (ages 7-8) plays 14 games, and recreation divisions generally play 12-14 regular season games followed by an end-of-season tournament.

As of the new Board of Directors who took over as of last year, I can honestly say that these individuals bust their behinds to make this league successful and do it for FREE. Coming off of a horrendous 2018 year with not being able to full fill an end of the year tournament and all star games. This new board that came in and picked up the pieces that they did not create and did a fantastic job creating trust within the community and getting the league back up and running. What individuals sometimes fail to see is how much goes into getting a league up and running and dealing with a lot of moving pieces. I applaud the job that these individuals do on a day to day bases and will reiterate that these individuals do this for free and do this for the kids!
★david budikThe Thornton Baseball Association has changed tremendously over the years since I have played in what I thought was a well organized operation. I will say that the new leadership of the organization by “Juan Garcia “is not only terrible but untrustworthy. Long story short, I signed my son up to play and he had a change of heart about 3 weeks prior to practices starting. I emailed to see if there was any chance in a refund and was PROMISED by the leadship team I would. That being said ,I waited and I am still waiting for a refund I will never receive. It’s not about the money whatsoever but the word of the leader in this oraganization. I have coached for the organization in prior years and didn’t think I would be lied to in the end. I know I will not return to the TBA without a big change in leadership.
