Powered by GoogleYou can tell this place is for people that are serious about learning an instrument. My little one is learning to play piano and he is really enjoying Ms. Elena being his teacher. They offer classes in so many different instruments and have highly trained teachers. They have different lengths of classes so you can dedicate 30-min, 45-min & 60-min to learn. They also have some ensemble classes for rock & jazz for people wanting to learn to play in a group.
Our son takes piano lessons from Luis at the Music Academy of Austin. He loves taking lessons there and learning more about the piano. We really appreciate the great communication from the school on scheduling and billing. The location is great and the teachers we have met have all been so kind. Luis especially is great with kids and makes the lessons fun. We are so glad we found this place!
Our children have been attending the 3–5 year-old Saturday morning music class at Academy of Music for months, and it has been such a joyful and foundational experience for our family. The class does such a wonderful job introducing young children to music through singing, dancing, rhythm, instruments, intonation, beat building, and the basics of music theory in a way that is engaging and age-appropriate. Andrew is fantastic with the children — patient, encouraging, and incredibly skilled at helping little ones feel confident as they learn new things. Since starting the class, our three-year-olds sing constantly at home, recognize instruments when they see or hear them, and get excited whenever they hear songs from class out in the world. I especially love seeing them feel joyful and confident enough to sing without being shy. The other families have also been so warm and welcoming, and the class has become such a meaningful and happy part of our weekly routine. We are so grateful for this experience and highly recommend it to any family looking to nurture a love of music in their young children.
Music Academy of Austin has great options for both children and adults. I took double bass lessons with Billy Satterwhite and he was fantastic at helping me transition from electric bass to upright. There is usually street parking in front, and they also have a small number of reserved spaces in the parking garage next door.
My 8 year old takes violin lessons with Mr. Tony. Not only is he an amazing violinist, he is also a wonderful teacher who makes learning music fun. They hold music recitals at Batch, which makes it super casual and fun!
