Our family had three students learning guitar from Orpheus' Mr. Jeremy, an 8-year old, a 5 year old and a 40 year old. My first perspective is as a parent wanting to help my children develop interest in music. Mr. Jeremy has been a tremendous teacher. He is very gentle, patient and encouraging with little kids. My kids started with Orpheus' unique Adventure Through Sound program. The way Orpheus teachers present their curriculum is outstanding. They teach music concepts in easy ways kids can understand, but are very sound and expandable later to the general music theory. Orpheus' method starts the kids "right" on their musical journey so there aren't bad habits/inaccurate understanding to fix later. High level musicianship skills like ear training and sight reading all start from fundamentals which even small children can latch on. It is worth mentioning that Orpheus also hosts frequent recitals, which is a great opportunity to expand kids' mental capacity of public performance regardless of their talent and skill levels. There is also plenty of encouragement (like small trophies and wrist bands) along the way to encourage the child to keep going. We are very happy with our experience there and will highly recommend Orpheus as the music school for any interested children and parents. My second perspective is as a 40-year old student learning guitar and music for the first time in my life. I had always wanted to understand written music and play an instrument since childhood. So when my kids started, I was glad to tag along and learn. Then I bought my first guitar and started learning with Mr. Jeremy too. Mr. Jeremy's professionality and expertise in guitar and music really shows through when teaching classes that involve complicated musical pieces and concepts. I was impressed multiple times by his knowledge and skills. When he did an intro class on development of the guitar instrument throughout history, he demonstrated how pieces of different periods could sound. It is fascinating to see him make his guitar sound like a harpsichord when he plays Bach. The next moment it is equally shocking to hear the same guitar sound like rock music all because of the way he plays. There are classes where he plays more and I listen more (which is a treat because he is an international competition winning guitarist). I always leave his class with a better appreciation of classical guitar music and musicians. His curriculum for adult students is very flexible, tunable to each student's personal interests and skill foundations. I went from zero to being able to play etudes of Tarrega, Brouwer and Carcassi in around a year. He teaches each piece in a wholesome way, starting from basics like rhythm, melody and dynamics, but always ending beautifully in musicality. He is also an expert in problem solving. As a beginner player, I had many troubles with techniques. Throughout my attendance, he taught me at least 50 different finger exercises, targeting finger independence, flexibility, ergonomics, sound quality etc. Now that I play guitar myself, I can confidently say that experienced guitar players will also find his classes very helpful. We are very happy with our experience at Orpheus and will highly recommend Orpheus to any young and old friends who are curious about music.

We love Orpheus! My son has attended Orpheus, mainly the Cedar Park location, for over five years. He started with Mr. Jesse learning classical guitar. During this time Charlie has learned not only proper technique, but also music theory. Charlie still sees Mr. Jesse weekly and will hopefully continue for many years, but has since added cello because he was inspired by his growth in guitar. In his words, he wanted to play a bigger instrument with strings! His cello teacher is Ms. Sara, who also teaches at the Orpheus Cedar Park location. Charlie is halfway thorugh Suzuki book two and has made incredible progress. Both Ms. Sara and Mr. Jesse are extremely patient, kind, and at the top of their field in both performance and pedagogy. My son is neurodivergent and both Mr. Jesse and Ms. Sara meet him where he is and differentiate the curriculum and approaches, yet still hold him accountable for learning and challenge him to always improve. The staff at Orpheus continue to inspire him towards new musical journeys and now he's picked up a third instrument, the trombone! Orpheus is truly a gift to the community.

We got recommended to this music school and had positive expectations but it was short lived. It’s probably a good music school but the teacher we were given wasn’t very patient or lack the communication skills with our daughter. We did stay to watch if it got better eventually but my daughter was beginning to dislike playing the piano. Which eventually led us to leave the school. Thankfully we now found a wonderful teacher recently and our daughter loves her which in turn helped her build a genuine curiosity for music again that she would practice eagerly after school everyday. Moreover they were very unprofessional and slow with handling the whole process. Something to keep in mind Overall not a good experience :/

Incredibly friendly staff, (always someone there to answer questions) clean facility, wonderful teachers! I have 2 children taking lessons and group classes. Their teachers are great communicators, my kids love them! This school offers many opportunities for my children to preform by themselves and with others. I really feel Orpheus not only teaches children instruments, but a love of music and sharing music with others! I would recommend this school to everyone!
