Powered by GoogleBoth of my kids took lessons from Capital City Guitar Camp founder and director Adam Carney for many years, and they both continued playing through high school and earned many honors both in ensemble and solo playing. In addition to his amazing musicianship, I credit Adam's easy demeanor and his skill relating to young people for providing a foundation for their persistence with the instrument over many years. The experience that Adam and the rest of the team at the Capital City Guitar Camp create for the campers is an concentrated manifestation of his teaching approach in a relaxed, fun environment, and my son always enjoyed it. Highly recommended for young musicians!
My children loved this camp! It’s also nice that parents are invited to attend the afternoon concerts by the amazing guest musicians. The instructors are dedicated and knowledgeable; Adam, the director, runs the program wonderfully. I enjoyed the lovely music at the final concert and was amazed at how much my children learned in just a week (2 of my 3 children were relatively new to guitar).
My son has participated in Capital City Guitar Camp for several summers. It's a very unique camp that has entertainment from various musicians at the end of each day. Families are welcome to enjoy the concert! Kids of all skill sets are welcomed, and grouped accordingly to work on their classical guitar skills. Adam Carney is the director and he and all of the instructors are trained Childbloom instructors. They are excellent! All of them are patient, enthusiastic and fun! Another cool thing is that the kids will perform their learned songs at the end if the week. My son also come away with his and his groups recorded songs on a CD. This is a fantastic camp!
My son Aidan loved this camp! He attended at least three years in a row. Adam, the organizer, is such an enthusiastic, patient, kind teacher. His desire for his students to love music as much as he does is palpable. At the end of each camp, there was a concert. The included (blurry - I apologize) pictures are moments of video taken during such concerts.
My boys were part of this guitar camp atleast 4 times so far. The camp was very well organized with learning new music, bringing in guest guitarists or other musicians, recording kids' solo pieces, and top it off with a kids' performance at the end. I would definitely recommend this camp to a guitarist at any level. Also, Adam was so nice enough to even baby sit the kids for an hour or so after the camp to accommodate my work timings.
